What you need to do
- 1Download the ubank app, start a new account application, and enter the referral code on the About you screen before finishing signup.
- 2Open a Spend account and activate your physical or digital debit card.
- 3Make five eligible card purchases within 30 days using the card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or card details online.
- 4Wait until all five transactions show as settled, then ubank deposits A$30 to you and your referrer.
What you get
New ubank customers who enter a valid referral code on the About you screen during mobile app signup, open a Spend account, activate the Visa debit card, and make five eligible purchases within 30 days can receive A$30 cash. The referrer receives the same A$30 once those purchases have settled (no longer pending). Returning customers who held an active ubank account within the previous 12 months may be excluded.

Eligibility and gotchas
- Referral codes cannot be added after the profile is created.
- ATM withdrawals, BPAY, direct debits, balance enquiries and EFTPOS cash-out-only taps do not count.
- All five purchases must settle within the first 30 days; pending charges at day 30 may fail the offer.
- Participants must be 18+ even though standard accounts may be available from 16.
