- 1After at least one purchase on your Up card, open Hook Up a Mate in the Up app and send an invite to someone who has never banked with Up.
- 2They register within 14 days using the same mobile number the invite was sent to, complete ID verification, and fund the account so Up can pay the bonus.
What you get
Under Hook Up a Mate, the person joining and the member who referred them each receive the same cash amount. The baseline is $15. Up adds $1 to the referrer's bonus for each year they have been an Up customer, capped at $25. The new member always matches the referrer's current bonus tier, not the referrer's future tier.
Referrer side: Same cash amount as the new member (from $15, up to $25)
Eligibility and gotchas
- The invite lapses if signup and ID verification are not finished within 14 days.
- The new member must use the mobile number that received the invite when they register.
- Up may withhold or reverse the bonus if the invite looks fraudulent or breaks program rules.
- Bonus payouts can depend on the account being in a state where Up can credit it.
